COVID 19 Statement for Fall Sports

In regards to the COVID-19 pandemic and the operation and safety of those participating in our league:

  • WYSA baseball and softball will closely follow WISD school guidelines in regards to screening of participants in the league
  • Coaches and players will be required to self-screen before arriving for any activity at Sonny Gold Fields.  This includes temperature checks and examining any signs of sickness (cough, fever, etc) that might put other participants in jeopardy of becoming sick.
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided in each dugout for the coach to administer to the entire staff and team before engaging in activities on the field.
  • If a case of COVID-19 is reported from any participant in the league, a notification will be sent out within 24 hours to all who came in contact with the participant and their families.  If the participant who test positive is associated with a particular team, the team activities will be postponed for 1 week to further eliminate spread if other participants were exposed.  Games will be scheduled as makeup later in the season.
  • The participant who tests positive will not be able to participate again for at least 10 days from the time of positive result and not within 72 hours of being symptom free.
  • Signs will be posted to maintain county and state orders in regard to social distancing for fans in the stands
  • End of game handshake lines will be suspended for the fall
  • Opening and closing ceremonies will not take place fall due to current crowd regulation and logistics
  • If the school systems close, we will follow suit to maintain the safety of our community
